EatOut and Facebook hosts social media seminar for restaurant partners

EatOut and Facebook joined forces to on Wednesday 5th October 2016, to host a free social media workshop for restaurant owners and managers in Nairobi.
The half day event which took place at the newly opened Metta collaborative workspace at 14 Riverside saw over 50 restaurateurs from Nairobi’s top establishments including Sankara, Talisman, dusitD2, Brew Bistro and River Cafe.
Speaking at the event – Mathew Sedze, Facebook Africa’s Product Marketing Manager explained “Small and medium sized businesses are incredibly important to Facebook. We’re here to learn from our clients and help identify consumer and advertiser trends that will have a significant impact on Facebook’s solutions in the long run.”
EatOut CEO and Metta Founding Member, Mikul Shah who last year sat on a panel along side Facebook’s Nicola Mendelsohn (Vice President EMEA) at DMEXCO in Cologne Germany added “We wanted to leverage our relationship with Facebook and invited them to speak directly to our clients. Our aim has always been to build Nairobi as a world class dining destination and it is important that our clients keep up with marketing trends worldwide.”
EatOut recently launched in Kampala Uganda plans to host a series of events in 2017 for the hospitality sector across the region. According to Michelle Slater GM at EatOut Kenya, the firm is confident that it will bring back Facebook and some our other international partners to work with it in Nairobi.
“The industry has come a long way in the last few years and it’s important that we continue to collaborate with the various stake holders of the sector,” said Slater.
